For IT staff, teachers, and families
Canbeasy for schools
Canbeasy is a study planner for Canvas. A student sees every class’s due dates, missing work, and grades on one page, then gets help planning and studying for what’s next.
This page is for the people deciding whether to allow it. It covers what Canbeasy does, what to allow, and how it handles student data.
01What students use it for
- Seeing what’s due next across every Canvas class, with late and missing work first.
- Checking where they stand in each class.
- Planning the time left before a deadline.
- Studying with quizzes, flashcards, and explanations built from their own class materials.
- Drafting a short, polite message to a teacher.
The Canvas dashboard works without a Canbeasy account. Only the AI study features need one.
02What to allow
Best category: Education. Canbeasy serves its own scripts and fonts from its own domain, so one address covers the app.
| Address | Why |
|---|---|
canbeasy.com | The app and its server. Required. |
www.canbeasy.com | Redirects to canbeasy.com. |
| Your school’s Canvas address | Already allowed if students use Canvas. Canbeasy reads Canvas through the student’s own access. |
accounts.google.com | Optional. Only for students who sign in with Google. |
checkout.stripe.com | Optional. Only for paid plans. |
The Canbeasy Connect browser extension is optional. Students can connect Canvas with an access token instead, so a district that manages extensions doesn’t need to install it.
03Academic integrity
The study coach is built to explain, quiz, and plan. It isn’t built to write graded work for students. When a student asks for a finished answer to hand in, the coach steers them back to working through it themselves. No AI safeguard is perfect, so Canbeasy keeps these rules on its server, where students can’t turn them off.
Canbeasy submits work to Canvas only when a student chooses to.
04Student data
Students choose Canbeasy and connect it with their own Canvas credentials. Canbeasy is independent: it isn’t a vendor to any school or district and isn’t affiliated with Instructure. It doesn’t sell data, show ads, or use advertising cookies, and a student can delete everything it holds at any time.
AI features send only the content a feature needs to an AI provider. The Privacy Policy lists every provider, what each receives, and where it’s located, including the ones outside the United States.
05If your filter blocks it
A new site is sometimes uncategorized or filed under the wrong category. An admin
can allow canbeasy.com right away with a policy rule, and ask the filter
company to review its category:
- GoGuardian: in a policy’s Categories tab, check the URL, then choose “Share Category Feedback.”
- Lightspeed Filter: look the site up in the Filter admin portal and submit it for recategorization.
- Linewize: in Content Filtering, use Category Search, then “Suggest a different category.”
- Securly: use the category lookup tool, then “Request category change.”

06For students: asking your school
Send this to your school’s tech office or a teacher, and change it however you like.
Hi, I use Canbeasy (canbeasy.com) to keep track of my Canvas due dates, grades, and studying. It’s blocked on my school device. Could you review it for the allow list? It’s an education tool, and this page explains what it does and what to allow: https://canbeasy.com/schools.html Thank you!
